Low and High Culture meet in this fun dance song from my album Captains and Sea Monsters. Those familiar with ships, will know that an area at back of the ship is referred to as the Poop Deck. Realizing that a part of my audience likes to say the word poop is the Low Culture. After exclaiming “Beethoven’s Movement”, I include a portion of Ode to Joy from Symphony Number 9, thus the High Culture.
I’m also proud that Poop Deck Dance was a Semi-Finalist in the 2021 International Songwriting Contest. Check out the video for the song.
